Community Guidelines

When posting messages on this discussion forum, please adhere to the following guidelines. These are here to ensure the smooth running of the list and we ask you to respect them for the benefit of all concerned.

  • This list is intended for discussion and interaction between anybody involved in or interested in Christian youth work. It is expected that discussion on this forum will be about topics relevant to that area.

  • If a discussion veers off-topic we recommend it is continued by private mail amongst the interested parties.

  • Please refrain from personal insults (flames) or denegrating other list subscribers. If you disagree with what they say, discuss that, don't turn it into a slanging match. It's not big and it's not clever.

  • Please respect that other list subscribers may come from different denominations to yourself. Whilst we would encourage intelligent theological discussion (especially about youth ministry) we ask that you avoid denegrating other denominational standpoints.

  • Chain letters, anonymous forwarded prayer requests, virus warnings and any other form of spam should not be posted on this fourm.

  • Please do not use this list as a noticeboard, especially for commercial gain. If you are participating in or even organising an event relevant to a discussion topic it may be publicised, but remember forum users can come from many different nations and may be unable to attend local events. (Note: Youthwork magazine contains a very thorough News section each month. Not only should you consider subscribing to the mag but any events news can be forwarded to the editor for possible inclusion.)

  • Offensive and/or indecent material will not be tolerated at any time.

  • The discussion is moderated and anyone who offends these ground rules will be warned once. If they continue to offend they will be barred from contributing to the discussion. This is for the benefit of all users.

  • Above all remember: try and keep it relevant to issues relating to youth ministry. After all, that's why people view the forum, so it follows that is what they want to talk about.
